Cleaning fish-flavoured vomit off an already much-anointed carpet was a perfect start to a soggy Saturday.
My mother had a very poor sense of smell and sometimes I think she was blessed, although it did result in her nearly blowing herself up once.
.
Luckily, she escaped with singed eyebrows, but the gas oven lifted into the air and crashed down on the steel drums that had been it’s support, denting them severely. Supper was delayed slightly, but not by much as Mum took everything in her stride.

If the weather brings rain…
Take pictures of wet creatures.

Starlings on a wind chime
A wet dove.

It seemed to know I was there.

.
“Seriously?”
“You’re going to post pictures?”
“Of me looking like this?”

I promised to post some other pictures that will show her (?) off better another day.
In the meantime, here’s a video from two days ago, before the rain came…
No matter what else is going on, these creatures always make us smile.

The dove, and the groundhog, are adorable!
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much, Carolyn, for the wonderfully funny photos which made me smile and happy. The chap eating carrots reminds my picture at supper!

Those poor bedraggled birds. Good to see the groundhog enjoying a carrot in the sunshine.
The rain has arrived here too, 3 days of it, on and off. Mostly on.
Best wishes, Pete.
They do, and thank you for sharing the smiles.
Oh dear, the dove certainly doesn’t look happy! I wouldn’t be either if I were soaked like that. I wonder if eating carrots provides the same pleasure for a groundhog as it does for a kid enjoying an ice cream?
