.

The colour of Spring is almost as the colour of Fall.
.
If you see what I mean.

.

Back lit , young leaves are like stained glass. Magical.

.
Meanwhile…
.
A young male groundhog patrols the feeders.
Males are much huskier.

.

It’s easy to see the difference.

“They got no table manners!”
.
“Need more nuts here missus!”

.

“Garrgh!”
“Don’t mess with me. I big gizzly bear!”
…on the other hand…
“I also a musician.”
“Any requests?”

.

“What is that frightful noise?”
.
“Ooh! Was it that bad?”

.

“You’re supposed to play the instrument, not eat it.”
“Maybe stick to whistling.”
(Whistling is their alarm call)
.
My theory about Fall colours…

.

April finished off with interesting clouds.

.
Then May arrived in soggy style.
The meadow has returned!

.

As the bushes and trees fill out they become that special shade of green that is Spring.
It appears that we have moved past the Fall semblance stage.
Now I must away to fill the hummingbird feeders. Grant spotted the first one this morning!
Thank you, Carolyn, for the wonderful post, full of brilliant observations, delightful creatures and their “conversation”, plus that sky and clouds that in your professional hands, all are special!

How can it be May already? It was New Year only last week!
Another 6 weeks and the days will start shortening again!
Stop it!!!!!
Always a joy to see groundhogs. The days get shorter before I have even had a chance to enjoy the longer everings. Not fair!
Best wishes, Pete.
Haha, the groundhog looks quite upset! Maybe his missus sent him out to go get food (you know, like when wives send their husbands to go shopping). Your colours (whether it’s Autumn or Spring) are beautiful. Oh yes, and I’m glad to hear the hummingbirds are back!
