JET needed a bath so we took her to the car wash yesterday.

It was another of those truly stunning, crisp days that I love so much.
Risking demerits for late cat lunch, we investigated a side turn.

While we are surrounded by hills, bits of New York are flat for many miles.
When I first came to live on Long Island 60 years ago the enormous sky felt strange to me, as if unprotected, vulnerable.

Apparently I quickly grew accustomed to it and have loved open skies ever since.
We noted interesting mounds supporting power poles.
A good idea, but one we had never seen before. Usually those poles are left to tilt every which way.

We came upon a golf club where nothing was happening, of course.
This doesn’t seem like golf club territory but we are not far from Saratoga Springs.

It’s not all farm country.

We’d been up a hill after all!

We coasted back down toward the Hudson River at Schuylerville.

We called out “hi” and progressed home in time to avoid Dee Dee’s demerits.

Lovely skies indeed, but still snow on the ground I see.
As you are not so far from Saratoga Springs, you should look out for Ricky and his pickup. 🙂

Lovely place! I have never been in snow except once when dad took us to Kashmir. The long stretch of empty winding roads look so inviting.
In Hindi, nearly all land and water vehicles are considered female, except trucks and road rollers (I guess, they aren’t considered cute enough) 😀

Heading to Washington DC on the 8th of March and there for a week before travelling northeast for a month then crossing into Canada for a month (if the money lasts).
Have you been before? Visitors seem to find changes, not for the better, so I’d be curious.
