Just over twenty-four hours after I accidentally deleted a whole selection of photographs, I had a chance to re-take them as we traversed the very same route.
The light will never be the same twice of course and yesterday was certainly quite different.

We set off under a grey sky and soon came to the row of trees I remembered from the day before. Trees on skylines always catch my attention.

Blue chicory lines the roads.
Whereas on Wednesday there had been a good deal of mist, yesterday was clear and a field on the distant horizon stood out like a beacon.
Merely a ploughed field hit by a beam of sunlight.
Despite the overcast, sunlight was apparently leaking through.
The intensity of the green was quite impressive.
As was the contrast between light and shade.
The road carved a path through a density of verdure. So very lush.
Cresting another hill, we perceived….a storm.
It looked as if we might get wet.
Just as trees on skylines catch my eye, so do rows of trees…
Which you could argue are the same thing.
But not exactly.
Back on the flat, we traversed a corn field as the storm closed in.
The first raindrops ruined my attempt to retake the image of a lone tree.
The brightness of the surrounding fields compelled me to keep shooting.
Rounding a bend we came to a group of wild turkeys.
Tom Turkey hustled his harem away from the road.
And then we got really wet!
Couldn’t see where we were going wet.
Well, I’d said the car needed a bath.
*It must be something I am doing wrong, though I can’t figure out what. Mostly, I can cut and paste the Flickr links and the images download. Indeed, they always appear to, but when I do a preview of the post, some of the photos are just the link codes.
For now I’ve given up the struggle and either deleted the image altogether or simply copied them from my photos file. Forgive my foibles?

I really appreciate how you write a narration for your sequence of photos. It takes extra effort to set it up this way and I think it makes your posts so interesting to have the photos illustrating the words, and vice versa. Thanks!
I love the different shades of green – something we are also starting to see now here on the farm as the wheat and canola begin to grow. Love the turkeys and the rain. I wish I were smarter with technology … but I’m afraid, when I try something new, I’m that one who has to get the ‘For Dummies’ book!
