Early morning computer issues frustrated me so I abandoned the struggle and went with Grant to get the car washed, taking a circuitous route.
Which was all very well but didn’t sort out my access problems.
.
For reasons unknown, I was unable to open Firefox and while I have Chrome, getting into my email that way took me into an endless loop, Log in here simply taking me back to Log in here.
“Delete and re-load the app.”
Deleting is easy. Re-animating something more of a challenge.

.

After the break I returned with new determination and refused to be dissuaded.
So I am in business again, but short of time.
.
However, I have a few pictures to offer.
The suet feeders are busy now.
Downy woodpecker.

.

Red-breasted woodpecker.
Over the winter we left the suet feeders out at night but recently Grant found the pole by the garage bent over, indicating that the bear was awake, so now we have to bring them in by nightfall.
Needless to say, we would happily feed the bear a three course meal, but it doesn’t do to encourage them as it would not end well.
.

The red-breasted woodpecker posed nicely.
“How about if I tilt my head?”
It has a mighty beak!

.

It’s Spring and therefore baby-making season.
Chipmunks may be seen zooming about, alternately stuffing their faces, chasing off the competition or simply hoping to get lucky.
That’s why we call them Zoomer.
They are impossible to tell apart, but one name fits all.
.
A couple were saved from speedy cats.

But chipmunks are fast on their feet.

.

Disclaimer:
“It wasn’t me!”
Once, it was a neighbour’s cat, the lovely but murderous Pancho. He spent a lot of time looking through our windows and we liked him but we were quite relieved when his people moved and we could stop worrying about the birds and small beasts he targeted.
I think Dee Dee also once caught up with a chipmunk but soon dropped it at the sound of Grant’s irate cry.
She hates being in his bad books!
.
“There I was, enjoying a wee snack…”

.

“Then he showed up!”

“All bright-eyed and bushy-tailed!”
.
“What?”
“It’s my job!”

.

“Yeah, yeah.”
“But will you feed the little hoglets when they come along?”
.
With the price of everything skyrocketing, we’ve told ourselves we must be more restrained this year, in the amount of carrots supplied.
Which is easy to say until you see their sweet faces.
There is an additional demand now!
We’ve seen Zoomer making off with a morsel or two but now it seems we’ve created another monster…

.

And it’s not just one weirdo that’s developed a taste…

The squirrels have become possessive, chasing each other off.
.
“These ones is mine!”
Tell me that lad isn’t enjoying his meal?

Thank you, Carolyn, for your lovely photographic update on the spring activities of all your carrot eaters. And of course, the beautiful studies of the sky!
Joanna
It’s a busy time of year, filling up with food and finding a mate!
So fun to see the squirrels with a carrot! 😆
Thank you for sharing. 🥕🥕
Looks like your furry fluffy family is growing 😀 They all are so cute and adorable 💗
“Clear your cache” is always the fun answer to log in loops.
Thanks. Yes, I did try but that had no effect. I deleted the app and then had trouble re-launching. Google wanted me to purchase an app that I could use but I was able to do it through Safari FREE.
It looks like your spring/summer friends are slowly but surely returning to your inviting garden. It’s nice to see all the familiar faces again (and you’re right, carrots are definitely a favourite snack). Beautiful photos of the woodpecker.
I love to see the small animals and the Groundhogs in your photos. Those woodpeckers are impressive too, though when I had feeders out we never once had any local woodpeckers on them.
Best wishes, Pete.
Hmm…not sure if my comment went through? Computer issues!
