Five years ago I was thinking about abandoning my blog. I’d written a few things that I thought might be of interest but soon I’d run out of topics.
Then the pandemic hit.
.
People had commented that they liked seeing the photographs I’d been posting and I thought that if I could give one person a little pleasure while locked in, then it was worthwhile.
.
So I plodded on and somehow topics came up, with Nature providing daily images.
Current affairs in this country however are proving to be a trial. Staying positive in a pandemic, it turns out, was a trivial challenge.
.
It helps when the weather is bright.
Instead of coming straight home from the village this day, we shot off in the opposite direction.
.
In the woods there is a series of rocky outcrops and I knew there would be ice formations, but of course as we approached them, a car had the nerve to turn onto the road behind us, so we had to go sailing past.
.
With no other traffic on the road, pulling over would hardly have inconvenienced the other driver, yet we kept going.
Finally, the man got fed-up with being pursued and found a place to turn around.
.
OK, so it wasn’t that exciting.
.
But the light was better coming back.
.
And I got a view of the feathered clouds.
.
There is no new snow but the ground is still covered.
.
It has an effect like seeing a body through a sheer garment.
If you see what I mean.
.
.
At the end of the road a shapely hill came into view, but we turned left away from it before I had a chance to raise the camera.
This sort of thing happens all the time!
.
That’s the trouble with drive-by photography.
.
You have to settle.
.
We passed a grove of beautiful sycamores.
.
Then headed back into Cambridge.
.
The new occupants of Buddy’s pasture always get a wave and a hello from us.
But then so does every other creature we pass.

The frozen water is lovely, and I think it impressive. Don’t let the current situation put you off blogging, we like to see your photos and hear about the cats and the animals. You can always be positive when it comes to pets and animals, I have no doubt.

The ice photographs are stunning! The world looks spectacular through the gauze of extreme cold. Don’t stop blogging. You remind me that the world hasn’t gone completely mad yet!
I look forward to your blog every day!! I love the pictures of your cats and the “wild” animals that live near you and your stories about them. I have many of the same ideas and feelings as you do, so I’m glad to see there is someone else as crazy as me 🙂 I hope you keep blogging forever!!

I hope you never stop blogging. I love hearing about your childhood in those exotic places and the experiences you had while working in the airline industry. Most of all, the seasonal pictures of your countryside and the sweet photos of your kitties. I never get tired of looking at cats. Speaking of cats (and other wild creatures) I want to recommend a new animated film, Flow. I loved every minute of it. The star of the show is a cat, of course.
Speaking just for myself – I am so glad you stayed positive and kept posting. (You and your blog are now a part of my life!)
Not exciting? I love the pictures of the ice formations!! I’m so glad you’re still blogging – and hats off to you for doing it almost every day! I’ll never see such beautiful snowy landscapes as you experience during your Winters, so it’s a feast to read your posts (and that counts for your other seasons photos too)!
