.

Wednesday’s appointment was in Saratoga Springs.
On the way we passed the Saratoga Monument in Victory, one of the smallest villages in New York.
In the foreground a cold-looking apple orchard.
.
Outside the Cantina in Schuylerville, a frosty horse.

.

The scenery on this route is a little different, the land being very flat.
.
Side roads clear but snow-covered.

.

Some snow fields have a lustrous sheen.
.
While others appear to remain mat.

.

Hard to believe that Spring is only a few short weeks away?
.
More shadows on snow.

There’s a poem in there somewhere.

.

How about in frost patterns?

.
The patterns are diverse and extraordinary.

.

Closer detail of the above.
You’ve seen me share them before…
.
…but they are never quite the same.

.

Delights of a frigid Winter’s morning.

.
There is more cold weather in our future, but this long icicle broke off at lunchtime and from tomorrow things are likely to begin to thaw, at least during the day.
An end to Winter.
Though, it’s not unknown to have snow in May!

When I see Saratoga Springs mentioned, I think of your photo of an abandoned boat, and how I used it in a fiction serial. I had to research Saratoga Springs for certain events in that story, and now I will remember that place forever.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thank you, Carolyn, for using the word spring! I cannot stand the thought of winter, and snow in May gives me nightmares!

Weird weather here. Full on winter, freezing temperatures and then within a few hours we were at 16C, and quickly heading back in the other direction again.
Beautiful photos! here Winter already has gone! Already weather is starting to get hot
Looking at that (frozen) apple orchard, I can hardly believe it’s going to bear apples again … just another testament to how wonderful Nature is. And it’s hard to believe that Winter is almost over – to me it still looks very cold! And every time I look at your Winter photos, then I know why it’s called a fairyland – it truly is beautiful.
