A delivery arrived just now from Chewy which is the company that supplies most of our cat needs as well as the peanuts I offer to birds and assorted wild creatures.
Pet food and litter being so heavy and cumbersome, I investigated having it delivered without using Amazon.
Buying in bulk from Chewy also made it a bit cheaper.

Occasionally shipments arrive that have been badly packed, basically items thrown carelessly into a box that is barely even taped closed.
But damaged items have been replaced promptly without question and the customer service department is the best I have ever encountered.

Chewy has a wide range of products at a selection of prices and we often see their boxes being delivered as we drive around. Hopefully the company will survive current turbulence.
Feeding oneself is now excessively expensive and pets are fast becoming a luxury.

It’s not beneath Dee Dee to cash in on an idea he has, no matter how she feels about the competition.

Dee Dee is quite a mercenary madam.
If you stand by the cupboard where the treats are kept, you are suddenly her very best friend.

When Chewy shipments arrive, Blackie flees downstairs. She does not trust strangers.
She was a stray where I lived in Washington. Someone in the neighbourhood trapped her and had her spayed which we knew because of her docked ear.
We saw her wandering about and referred to her as Blackie because – she was. She was terribly shy but she seemed to like my garden and came to watch as I worked out there.
We began putting bowls of food out and eventually Blackie walked through the front door, asking to stay.

If I’d known her intention perhaps I would have selected a more original name.
Blackie installed herself quickly and stayed far from the door, as if she was afraid we’d put her back out.
Like Willow, she attached herself to me.
I’ve always felt Panther sent the two of them to fill his shoes.
He was a small boy with a jumbo personality.

Muffin is waiting for the weather to warm up so she can go back outside again.
She likes going walkabout but she is not a fan of the cold.
“Not good for old bones.”

Sophia only discovered outdoors last year, setting foot on grass for the first time since she was a kitten.
We don’t know what trauma she suffered that kept her living so long in the shadows.
Grant worked very hard with her and she now trusts me too.
Us two old girls found peace in our dotage.

Cats sure do know a good box when they see one!
We had the badly packaged issue with Chewy, dog food hanging out of a trashed box, along with occasional supply issues so we’re back to online order/store pickup. Wonderful cat pictures.
It is clear from your photos that it is not only small kids who love empty boxes, but also cats! Their food may cost you quite a few dollars, but at least their toys/boxes aren’t too expensive. It’s lovely to see their curious faces – each with their own personality.
One good thing about having the Chewy delivered is that it comes with free ‘cat hotels’ and convenient hiding places. I’m sure they appreciate those, as well as the food.
