Early starts are a good thing and not so hard these days. I managed to beat the clock by five minutes this morning, although it insisted on sounding the alarm despite my having turned it off.
I know I changed that annoying tune it plays too, yet there it was again.
I so dislike being defeated by technology.
.
Clutching buckets of seed, I went out to do the rounds and saw the Moon lurking behind a cloud.

.

It was one of those dawns that keeps on happening.

.

.

One must get it from every angle…

.
…and every moment as it changes…

.

…with the Sun cresting the horizon.

.
iPhone contributions..

.

Despite my many complaints about technology, I marvel at being able to capture such images on my phone.
Or being able to fetch up any piece of music I choose with a couple of clicks on my computer.
.
It seemed such a promising start,

.

but the clouds thickened,

.
..rolling in behind us as we headed north on 372.

.

By the time we reached Easton it was solid.
Wilbur road, is visible there.
(Where the car re-cycling plant is.)
.
The land has turned a funny shade of yellow, or is it green?

.

Yellow, for sure.

.
When the Hudson is still, I am encouraged to capture reflections.

.

And a picture of the Stillwater Bridge.
.
Not quite in flood, the Hudson is high.

.

As we progressed, rain set in.

.
Highlighting that yellow was the colour of the day.

Thank you, Carolyn, for the beautiful post! Stunning photos of the sky, and of the reflections in the river! I loved it all!
Joanna
You seem to have a super palette of sky colours compared to the one in vogue over here! Beautiful.
It’s been grey and soggy for the rest of the day but a beautiful dawn helps you through it. I hope you will have clear skies soon!
These are the most beautiful moments – watching how the sky changes during sunrise! Beautiful photos Carolyn. It is definitely a yellow landscape … and the pictures of the river create such tranquility – love it.
The reflections on the still river are lovely, Carolyn.
Best wishes, Pete.
Your photos always remind of a nostalgic time long gone that will never return. They have something so simply yet elegant that brings forth memories of a warmer past.
Thank you. I’m touched. Since coming to live in the country Nature has given me many opportunities to remember the good things.
Oh, yes, indeed. Nature is such a good reminder of resilience and just pure delight. Often spending time in nature feels like a nudge to slow down and live.
