People talk of prevailing wind.
There is also prevailing colour and at the moment it seems to be yellow.

What it is about cornfields?
Maybe it isn’t about the corn at all.
Maybe it’s all those lines that go on for infinity.
The illusion of something ahead,
just out of reach.
Follow the yellow lit road…

For days now, I’ve been intending to post images from around the property.

It wasn’t till I downloaded these that I appreciated the fine details.
White campion. Another plant that just arrived and grew randomly .

Bird’s eye Gillia.
Many of the prettiest flowers are so very tiny, they are easy to miss.

Verbena
Mallow

Lobelia

Queen Anne’s Lace is hard not to see.

Thai Princess ring
A comparison I’ve no doubt made before.

“For goodness sake! How many pictures can you take of the same thing?”
I ask myself.
But they are no more the same than two snowflakes are ever the same.
(Maybe you’ve seen my winter posts!)

A day or so later…

Different light, different setting…

The Rose of Sharon came into bloom while I wasn’t watching. We have to make a point of checking on it because it’s up there, out of sight.

A couple of years ago we weren’t sure these plants would survive.
Deer seemed to be eating the shoots.
We had been pleased before, with a single bloom. Now the bushes are full of buds.

So similar to hibiscus.

.

As we were out and about that day, I caught sight of lots of Rose of Sharon bushes. Clearly, it’s a bumper year.

While viewing the Rose of Sharon, a Common wood nymph posed for me.

Someone mentioned recently a fear of butterflies which is a little hard to imagine.
Not as hard to imagine as:
Arachibutyrophobia.
The fear of having peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth.

Thank you, Carolyn, for the stunning photos of everything, including the moth and a beautiful ring.
Joanna
PS. And for the new word to me – arachibutyrophobia.
Joanna
No matter how hard I try, I can’t pronounce the title of your post 👀 … try saying that with peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth! You have the most beautiful and delicate flowers in your garden – the Bird’s eye Gillia is lovely.
My wife has a real fear of butterflies and moths. She can become very agitated if we are somewhere that has a lot of butterflies.
Best wishes, Pete.
That makes more sense, I was trying to picture a single butterfly being a threat but I remember when there have been a lot of moths mostly, fluttering around a light and then they can get in your face.
Ha, ha, you made me laugh with your comment of how many times can you take the same thing…I’m the same now that I use a digital camera (or phone).
The wood nymph is pretty cool.
