At long last it is raining. A good thing since although there has been no mention locally of drought, water courses have been looking on the dry side for some time now.
The ten day forecast suggests that we will get several more wet days and continuing unseasonably mild temperatures, though not as high as Wednesday’s 72F/22C.
Here I was making preparations for a cold winter, but of course that may still come and our generator project is in hand. A couple of adjustments and I think we will be set for whatever Nature throws at us.
.

After so many sunny, colourful days, the naked trees and grey skies do look a bit drab, but I have the ability to put leaves back on!
The above was only 6 days ago, one of many churches in our town.
.

That day, we had intermittent cloud.
.

My favourite sort of day, especially in Fall.
.

After all the driving around we’ve done to view the sights, we still marvelled at it.
.

It was before our time change, so this was not long after dawn when the sun rays cast a red hue onto the hills.
.

Individual trees catch your breath.
This one stands above the groundhog people’s house.
Eh? It is a very curious house which is open only at the front. Otherwise it is entirely underground.
.

Over the hill and down the other side to where there is a lake.
.

And a farm with two lazy horses. Actually, there are three and sometimes they graze on the hill across the road where we pause to say hello.
.

Fall was already quite advanced, but how beautiful the hills were that day.
.

Late as it was to embrace the change, even this tree was shedding.
.

A favourite row of trees. They look good in all seasons.
.

A quiet Friday morning in Greenwich. That big oak is gorgeous.
.

At Hannaford’s the trees were nearly done.
.

But still breathtaking.
.

On the way home I remembered to capture a silhouette that appeals to me.
It reminds me of a peacock’s tail.
.

I miss Ralph.
.
You were blessed with some wonderful light to show off the scenery, before the rain arrived. Unlike here, where we currently just have grey and damp on repeat. November can so often feel like a long and dismal month, before I eventually get used to the clock change.
Best wishes, Pete.
a beautiful change
We had 3+” of rain on Friday. We seem to be in a cycle of a couple of weeks of parched conditions followed by a day or two of torrential rain. Not a great cycle to be in. Anyway, I’m glad the rain made it to you.
