Nostalgia caused me to think of Christmases past. I had forgotten that we’d once had a white Christmas in Seattle. Snow was rare out there in those days. In consequence, when it arrived it was a nuisance because no-one could remember how to cope with it. Streets were a mess and with all those hills, driving was problematic.
The winter after I left to come back east, Seattle was hit with significant snow storms and from what I hear, they have suffered from extreme weather ever since.
The town where we had the Christmas Eve hearts was evacuated recently due to flooding.
.

Thimphu helped me write Christmas cards in 2010. He thought it was a bit of a snore.
And that small boy had quite a snore, due to his poor smushed little face.
It looks as though I was sitting on the floor. I often did. More space.
.

Lily got comfortable in one of the boxes and Panther came around to check on us all which he did regularly in his capacity as The Boss.
Panther was small but he was the Main Man.

The house was at the bottom of a steep hill covered in ivy interspersed with gorgeous ferns.
Spring announced itself by way of trillium blooming on that hill.

We used to decorate the Kitty Suites for Christmas. Someone donated the socks and we put one up for each of the foster cats. Cassidy approved of the purple one we chose for her.
.

“M” checked out a new dream curl.
“M” was offered a home with his buddy Oliver, but he decided to return to the suites and retake his position as Suite Manager.
.

It was very important for him to supervise and to assist when necessary.
.

Actually, “M” simply wished to be attached to Grant at all times.
.

Scrolling through acres of photos searching for pictures I was sure I took of other Christmases in the Kitty Suites, all I’ve done is relive a lot of often sad times.
However, I also come upon the above.
Although we were both much busier in those days, we did once manage a road trip even then. Grant took me to Cooper’s Lake where, as you can see, it had snowed. Funny that I only recall having snow once, yet have photographs of other occasions. But this was at higher elevation.
No-one else came this way that day, since on the way back, we followed our own tracks.

Thank you, Carolyn, for your beautiful memories! It is a great pleasure to see how dedicated you and Grant are to the welfare of your companions. The world is a better place because of people like you two.

Nice memories of snowy Christmases. I am pleased to report that there has been no snow in Beetley, just two days of bright sunshine and blue skies. It is very cold though, just 4C maxiumum and with a strong easterly wind, if feel more like -2.
Best wishes, Pete.
