Postponement

0652/3rd Oct 2025

After many weeks of cloudless summer skies, October brought more character.

1307/2nd Oct

Suddenly aeroplanes were rushing off in all directions.

.

1515/2nd Oct

It was as if people wanted to be anywhere but here.

.

0637/11th October 2025

Shorter days mean I get to greet the dawn.

.

As much as I enjoy longer days, there are benefits to those that are briefer.

.

0751/12th October

Early mist on the 12th soon burned off.

.

It turned into another nice day.

.

We took the scenic route to Greenwich for an update on Fall.

.

At the weir, the Batten Kill was as low as we’d ever seen it, despite recent rainfall.

.

Fly Creek that flows into it was hardly flowing at all.

.

We stopped for a look at a grouping of trees that often make a pretty picture.

They seemed not to be on the same page vis a vis the season.

.

Looking across the fields to the house, it didn’t look like Fall at all.

.

Yet when we turned off onto our road, Winter seemed to have arrived.

.

By mid afternoon, the weather was on the change…

The sky was bruised and sulky at 5 pm.

.

An hour later it no longer sulked. It had pulled itself together to become plain threatening.

.

And this was 0930 the following morning.

.

But the full day of rain we were supposed to get was called off before 11’o’clock.

Postponed until – next week? (maybe)

  1. Your early morning photos are beautiful – love the soft colours! It looks like you went straight from Summer to Winter (maybe the autumn leaves are taking a break this year 🍂🍂🍂).
