Green

.

A cloudless, smoke-free sky made an early afternoon drive seem almost unexciting.

.

The Highway Tabernacle’s message.

Curious imagery.

Not that I could come up with inspirational phrases even if I tried.

These days I seldom purchase greeting cards because of the words they mostly contain. In any case, they are too expensive and so is the postage.

Which is a shame because I used to love nice cards.

Instead I buy blank ones and write my own words.

.

Two hours later the light had changed giving us a new appreciation for a sky clear to the horizon.

.

I’m not sure which flower this is but purple is very prevalent at the moment and a lovely sight.

Golden rod and purple loosestrife. Bees and butterflies love it.

Luckily this field was planted with soy, allowing for a view across the hills.

Which is blocked when corn is grown.

Going east
Coming west

A pair of trees on Wright’s Road always ask to be photographed.

.

As does Mr Allen’s tree.

Though corn blocks many views, I love the sight of it as it ripens.

At certain times of day the very subtle curves of the land are high-lit.

In winter I rave about a snow-covered landscape,

…but I am equally in love with green!

  1. I don’t get the meaning of the church sign at all. Perhaps you have to be religious to understand it?
Things are becoming increasingly autumnal around Beetley. Acorns falling everywhere, leaves dying and fluttering down. The heatwave seems to over today, which is a blessed relief. Back to a very nice 20C and light breeze.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Thank you, Carolyn, for the green post, as this colour is the symbol of nature. I love your beautiful landscapes and Alan’s tree. I prefer to write my own message on the cards, too, as the words provided are often uninteresting.

  3. Yes, I also love green in nature. Something we often see now during our winter – the world is adorned in different shades of green (and yellow with the canola that’s starting to bloom). And the blue sky in your photos … oh, it makes me long for our summer!
