The day was not yet done.
Long summer evenings that follow a storm are to be relished.
.
The soft, serene sky

.

Storm clouds receding.

.

One took the shape of a dog face.

The nose and brow became more pronounced.

Marching behind the dog, a figure with a turned-up nose drank from a beer can.
.

Maybe mythical creatures were imagined by people who stared at clouds.
.
Moments like this take away anxiety.
Gazing out into the beyond, our little planet seems so insignificant, our lifespan less than a puff of wind.

.

On top of the dog’s head, a second dog had taken form while on the other side, another face with a big nose was tilted to the sky.
.

Then, they were gone.
.

Luckily I avoided an encounter with a skunk that rushed past.
.
And I managed not to scare off a doe that grazed beneath the apple tree.

.

She and Peanut the fox visit us frequently these days.
.
Raccoons living nearby need snacks.

.

Just a few of the friendly faces that bring us cheer.

I like seeing faces in the clouds, and all your photos of the sky are wonderfully interesting, Carolyn! After a storm, there is a beautiful scent in the air, quite intoxicating. The faces of your wildlife friends bring joy, you wrote, but what about those toes?

I was way ahead of you with all the shapes and images before you mentioned them. What a wonderful selection you had, and what an amazing palette of colours.
I agree that one cloud definitely looks like a dog’s face (I could almost give him a name 😁). And while the dogs move around in the sky, you are lucky to also have various animals on the ground! Animals everywhere!!
