Moved

.

Curious patches of colour on a hill always catch my attention.

Sometimes they are Siberian irises.

.

Sometimes they are sheep!

.

It is becoming more and more difficult for me to focus from a moving vehicle or when viewing complex subjects, such as supermarket shelves.

Or a music recital, I discovered.

(Where it hardly mattered)

.

Our neighbour’s sister sings with a local choral society and yesterday we went to a performance.

It was in a little local church and I’d not expected there would be a small orchestra or such a professional production.

Reading the program, I saw that it was something close to my heart and I found myself deeply moved.

If you are interested, I am attaching a link to a performance on YouTube by The Atlanta Philharmonic.

.

.

Listening to the music again today, I gave in to tears as I read the lyrics which are from famous poems.

Here are just a few…

(Christina Rosetti and Emily Dickinson)

  1. Such beautiful poems, I can see why they would make you tearful. I was watching birds in the garden this afternoon, and I said to Julie, “They know nothing about Trump, Israel, Iran, or politics. And they are all the better for that ignorance.”
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. I watched a few minutes of the YouTube clip and – it made me a little melancholic. I saved it on my computer and will play it as background music when I am busy with my daily tasks at home – thank you for sharing it. I also enjoyed the poems you quoted here.
