What’s on offer

0911/31st March 2025

.

Just as Grant was going out the door yesterday a shaft of sunlight unexpectedly broke through the gloom, so I accepted the offer of a ride to the village since such occasions sometimes offer photographic opportunities.

You see, I’m not a total pessimist.

.

On this occasion – just a stormy sky.

.

You make the best of what’s on offer!

.

But then just before dusk, the sky seemed to be offering a bonnier face, so I went out to investigate.

.

Grey clouds parting and the sight of blue beyond always give me a lift.

.

Especially when it’s unexpected.

.

When the trees are almost in leaf.

.

Taking care not to fall in…

…who’s hole is that?

.

Later on when I checked, I discovered the day had topped out at 70F/21C.

.

But now it was getting late and cold, so I retired for the night.

A humble offering for today, but at least it is not all dark.

  1. Thank you, Carolyn, for the beautiful study of the sky. Your photographic talent is always impressive, no matter what is on offer!

  2. “You make the best of what’s on offer” – that’s so true! Sometimes, when we go on a weekend break and the weather is not favourable, we just make it fun! And that’s something you always do well too – your photos of the stormy sky are beautiful … what luck for a bit of blue sky towards the end of the day.

  3. 70F is good for the first week in April. It is sunny here again today, but only 57F. I had the heating on this morning until almost midday. Those dark skies really did look menacing!
    Best wishes, Pete.
