They say it is darkest before the dawn.
But I fear it is yet far from full dark.

It has been 79 years since the end of the last dark era and I am grateful to have lived in the light until now.
So I dare not complain.

Truth is, though, my batteries are flat.
A year ago today we said goodbye to Penny and Toby. Yesterday was another such anniversary and – something else.

If there is a beacon of light somewhere, at the moment I don’t know how to find it but I will try.
What other option is there?

The Democrats did this to themselves by not listening to all the people (including Bill Clinton) who tried to warn them. If they come to their senses – and soon – they can recoup starting in 2026.

When I go into a dark period, I usually reach out to what brings me light and joy. For me, it’s being in nature and close to my God. Maybe your light, is the detail you observe around you and capture with your camera … and then share it with others. Like, for example, this pretty bird. When one is desperate, you reaches for anything to keep afloat … I believe you are going to find your light and strength again soon.
Berto and I have a miserable flu for the last couple of days (change of season I believe), .so, I’m a bit quiet, but I’m going to catch up on your blog soon.

Thanks Carolyn. Today is the first morning in 6 days that I kind of feel like my old self. I forgot what it is to have the flu, because the last time was in 2018 during our Portuguese Camino … so, maybe it was time again.
