“We’re running out of time.”
“We should make another attempt at Whitehall!”
.
It’s another glorious day, far too nice to stay in, so we’re off again in a short while.
.
(This was yesterday)

.

Road trips here are always enjoyable but I must admit there have been rather many lately and sometimes on these outings we seem to find every possible pothole which makes it tiring.
But I have to be really out of sorts to decline.
.
Last time we tried to get to Whitehall, we ended up everywhere but.
It’s 42 miles north, in the Adirondacks.

.

These images are from the day we went to Vermont.
The green tree is one of those favourites I often photograph because of its nice shape.
It was defiantly green which is one of this year’s curiosities.
.
Trees that have always been stunning in the Fall have clung to green then turned dark brown and wrinkled.
It feels like a protest!

.

I love trees that stand out against the horizon!
.
Even when not quite in focus.

.

Not expecting much, black birds being hard to capture decent images of, I snapped a couple of pictures of a crow that played shy.
.
But then it turned its head to show me its prize.
An acorn, perhaps? I’m not sure.

.

The sky cloudless!
.
There are those trees again.

.

It was only 1530, but the Sun was lowering.
A nice time of day, even if it is too early.
.
On Sunday we were out again.

.

Late in the day again.
.
Heading through golden woods to Stump Church.

.

Less glorious than two years ago.
But not by much.
.

.

The driver has summoned, so we’re off…
Lovely colours, and definitely an acorn in the bird’s beak. So many places where you live are named after places in the UK. Whitehall is very different to the one on London.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thank you for sharing these stunning Fall photos!
The leaves are so beautiful, against the bright blue sky!
Your travels look so peaceful.
Catherine
It’s a pity that you have to head home to feed the cats!
It’s so beautiful … the intense blue sky and the Autumn-coloured trees. And what a perfect photo of the crow with its find in its beak. Your last few photos of the golden leaves – that is by far my favourite of all your Autumn posts this year.
