With one thing and another, I seem to be lagging behind.
Not that I had anything exciting to share.

A quick Vermont trip, September 3rd.

The weather has been spectacular.
.
Still very warm, but no longer oppressive.
.
As usual we bounced along in our unhurried way.
.
The early appearance of Fall at the beginning of August did not take hold until this past week.
Hence, the summery appearance here.

This tree though, always has the appearance of having just had a terrible fright.
.
September 6th we decided JET (the car) needed a bath, so we took her over to Schuylerville.
Afterwards we stopped at the locks, looking for geese but they were elsewhere.

Not here either.
.
Geese are certainly on the move these days.
.
The sound of geese is one of the markers of Fall.
.
Equally, it’s a marker of Spring.
Yet strangely, this year I heard none.
.
It’s not as if flights of geese can sneak in unnoticed.
I listen for them.
So…?
.
September 8th, the spotlight was searching for hillhouse again.
This happens all the time.
In future I shall call it the lighthouse.
.
For reasons forgotten, we somehow ended up at the townhall that day. Yes, that’s it at the end of the road.
Impressive, eh?

It was probably another meander that took us out.
.
We do that a lot this time of year.
.
Should I say we do it more in the Fall?
.
The car dealership indicated they’d like to buy back my car and I daresay it was a good offer but I don’t have the spare cash for a new one and don’t feel like borrowing.
.
Call me cynical, but I’m leery of good offers.
.
A cheque arrived today. A whole $11.
The dividend on my BA stock.
Admittedly I don’t own much.

September 16th.

The following night was cloudy.
.
But the sky cleared in time for the partial eclipse.
Which brings us almost up to date.
Unusual for a car dealer to actualy want to buy your car. I suspect they have someone looking for the exact model and spec. Do you have two cars, or just the one? We are considering dropping down to one car once Julie gets closer to retirement. But If I fail the eye test to renew my licence next August, one will have to go anyway.
It was dark at 7:20pm here this evening. Autumn is in full swing early, and taking no prisoners.

Actually I have had offers a number of times. I’m told that since Covid, used cars have held value. A friend recently had her car totaled and the money from the insurance company was what she originally paid about 4-5 years ago.
$11 not to be sniffed at. Get it in the bank quick so it can go towards a new car if you decide to buy one!
Any photos from you, Carolyn, are a great pleasure but when you come with the Full Moon, I am in ecstasy! I love the flying geese cry and love to see their formation in the sky. I like the frightened tree!

I’ve also fallen behind – weekends and public holidays I’m always far away from my computer. So, I have some catching up to do on your posts! And it’s lovely to see quite a few more Summer photos – the green field and blue sky (I hope to see many more of these myself soon). And I love the spotlight on that house on the hill — I wonder if the people who live there notice when it’s happening. And the partial eclipse — it’s beautiful.
