It’s a little hard to concentrate on anything when you are waiting for news that may be dire.
Having used that word, I should emphasize that I realise it is a matter of perspective.
Dire is something devastating. Murder, rape, pillage or a world war, none of which are currently on the horizon.
.
We had hoped that we would find this morning that Tinkerbelle had turned a corner.
Instead she looked so ill, we took her back to the vet where she still is, being evaluated.
As we got the carrier out, she looked almost comatose and I wondered if I would see her alive again.
We have had many animals go to the edge only to bounce back.

.

The news about Sophia is inconclusive.
She may, or may not, have something in her throat area that shouldn’t be there. It’s not large enough to be termed a mass or even a lump.
She was x-rayed and had blood taken and we await those results as well.
Sophia still appears bright and content. She did so well at the clinic, allowing the doctors to examine her without a fuss, which is amazing for a creature that had been extremely nervous for most of her life.
.
In the meantime the other little treasures do their best to keep our minds busy elsewhere.
Such as Lily’s voluminous vomit in the middle of Grant’s bed which at the best of times irritates him a little.

.

Muffin made her contribution as well.
But that’s normal. She produces a daily hairball.
.
Grant took Tinks off to the vet while I put sheets and blankets in the washer.
Then I sat at my desk only to put my foot into another pile of vomit which may have come from Willow.

.

But I didn’t see it happen, so it could have been Dee Dee.
.
…or Blackie..

.

But Willow did come by a little while ago to make another deposit on the carpet.
Cats vomit often. You clean it up and pay it no mind.
But when one of them gets really sick, you begin to worry. What if there is something contagious here?
That is unlikely, but I keep remembering what happened to Lucy at the end of last September.
She was fine and then…she wasn’t. She was sent home and she died in the middle of the next night.
.
At this point a circuit breaker blew.
We adjourned for lunch but then received a call from the vet and 45 minutes later we were there saying farewell to another beloved cat.
Our Tinkerbelle is gone.

Very , very sad news . I am so sorry. I know how you how much you love all your animals, and all these years many have passed on but each time is like the first time . Thinking of you and Tinkerbelle . Bless you for giving here a wonderful life . ❤️

Oh, Carolyn and Grant, this blog post is terribly sad news. Our hearts here break a little bit for Tinkerbelle, who had such a lucky life with you, moving across the country and becoming a loved cat by people who never even met her. Your wonderful blog shares so much, and we feel we know you and your family of creatures! We feel lucky to have known Tinkerbelle, even from a distance, and we share your sadness.
Oh, that’s terribly sad. My thoughts are with you and Grant – it’s never easy to have to greet your beloved animals forever. Tinkerbelle, even though I never met you, it feels like I knew you … my heart hurts ❤️.
So sad to hear that. What a truly rubbish day!
