As storms go, this one just had training wheels but it dumped a lot of rain in a short amount of time and brought an end to the heat I find so oppressive.
For now, anyway.
That was Monday evening. I’m running a bit behind. What else is new?

Mister Grosbeak popped in for a seed that day.
Don’t those two look cute?
The little brown bird was a sparrow and I regret to say that the grosbeak took an uncharitable swipe at it.
Not that the sparrow was bothered!

During our impromptu drive the other day, we came upon buzzards hanging out in a field.
Impressive, if not quite in focus.

Pictures of this gorgeous bird came out better.
Just up route 22 from Cambridge there are two osprey nests atop power poles.
We found the birds at home.

The fish no doubt came from one of the two nearby lakes. I can’t identify it, but it looks a decent size.
It was such a thrill to see these two little families thriving. They don’t seem at all bothered by traffic passing by on the state route beneath them.

Very impressive photos and videos of the Ospreys. Do you know who is reponsible for building those platforms atop the utility poles? I love that they have a secure place to build their nests.
There is another on a state road going up to Ft Edward. I think it’s the people who put up the power poles but I’m not certain about that. They are gorgeous birds.
You’ve captured quite a drama here! And how lucky that you were to watch everything unfold without them flying away. Sometimes one’s patience is rewarded, right?
