For the second time in as many days, a container of yogurt threw itself from the fridge and onto my foot, this time splashing nicely across my shoe and the kitchen floor.
It seems I have splashes on my mind.
.
Hardly of yogurt, though.
Splashes of light.
Especially late in the day.

.

Spotlights.

.
Shifting as the Sun sinks.

.

Catching the very rim of a hill, a small copse of trees,

.
a small portion of a new snowfield.

.

Finally, it’s only the clouds that are lit briefly, and the tops of distant hills.
This is not a daily occurence, but it happens often enough, yet I am always riveted by it.
Magic moments.
.
Packed snow on our little road caught this morning’s light and I am always drawn to the image of a road disappearing into the distance.
Maybe it’s a hankering to know what lies beyond, just out of sight?

.

A mere dusting of snow can render any landscape more interesting.

.
Winter is back, for a moment.

.

Today I needed a coat!

.
Sun splashed my house and treetops.

.

Also the old stone wall.
More snow is forecast (or forecasted as they insist). tomorrow, a trip to Clifton Park in the offing.
It could prove tedious.
Or it may not happen at all.
Life is never certain.
Thank you, Carolyn, for you winter musing! I think the sunshine would work better than the snow!
I do share your interest in the destiny of the open road, and where it might lead; perhaps the edge of the world! We are having a cold snap here, and I hate it, because my birds don’t like it, despite having plenty to eat and warm water to drink. I hope it will only last for a few days…

It almost looks like a very sharp flashlight shining in certain spots of Nature – beautiful! Yes, life is never certain … that’s why we should enjoy every moment (like you do through your lovely photos). Enjoy your coat in the winter weather – here with us it’s shorts and t-shirt weather (and barefoot on the cold tiles to cool off)!
I do hope that you master the art of catching a yoghurt pot on your toe. Perhaps you can then move on to juggling!
Some of those photos look like oil paintings of landscapes. Nicely captured, Carolyn.
Best wishes, Pete.
