Overnight snow continued through yesterday morning, but did not amount to much and soon began to melt.
Note leaves sprouting on the lilac bush, bottom left!
.
Late sun lit up the distant hills.

.

The angle of the light had the effect of making the woods transparent, revealing the snow-covered ground beneath.
.
The Green Mountains are in Vermont.

.

Looking up at the clouds, they seemed to glow as the Sun lit them from above.
They took on a pinkish tone but I can think of no colour to describe it.
Winter Pink, perhaps.
.
When I first began to really appreciate landscapes, I noticed that winter skies tend to have a pale yellow hue.
Except in late afternoon, following a storm.
When it is more pink and grey.

.

It’s just possible I may have got slightly carried away with the whole thing.
My biggest weakness has always been a pretty picture.
After animals and birds.
Sometimes, they are the pretty picture, of course.
.
All too soon another day dawned.

Westbourne flights heading out.

.

Amish folk headed for Greenwich.

.
Last night, Lily and Blackie both decided to sleep on my bed which meant Willow would not.
This morning she huffed off muttering:
“Leaving home”.

.

She got as far as the dirt pile
.

.

“Maybe I’ll wait till Spring.”
Thank you, Carolyn, for your winter musing, and the beautiful images of the sky, and unhappy Willow.

Welcome back Willow – a vey wise cat.
So beautiful nature 💕 and the cat in the snow so gorgeous 🌨️❄️🙀😻💜
I don’t know how many times I’ve said it (and how many more times I’m going to say it), but your Winter landscape photos are beautiful. I like the descriptions of ‘Winter pink’ and ‘Winter yellow’ colours. Haha, yes I don’t think Willow’s bag is packed properly for a ‘Winter getaway’ – she might just tolerate the other cats for now!
I didn’t realise you had Amish poeple nearby. Do you get held up on the road behind their buggies?
The squirrel photo would make a lovely Christmas card.
Best wishes, Pete.
We don’t often find ourselves behind an Amish cart, but yes, if they are on a part of the road where it isn’t safe to pass, you just crawl along behind. I haven’t heard of it being a problem to anyone.
