The promise of rain yesterday produced lots of cloud but no precipitation.
Not even a rumble of thunder.
.
But this morning is decidedly wet.
Ghost takes it all in stride but Dee Dee was not pleased. She rushed out for her walk, did a 180 and rushed back in.

.

Master Sparrow came to get a situation report.
With the Starling babies off terrorizing other folk, the Red-wings, Grackles and Cow birds are back.
Sparrow shook his head:
“Are we never to get our feeders back?”
.
Red-wing babies are a little less brattish than the Starlings.

But they are pretty noisy!

.

They are also entertaining:

.
“Let’s see, how do I get my beak in there?”

.

“Whoops!”

.
Then there’s the Grackles:

.

The parents look a little dozy.

.
Junior ended up feeding itself while its parent had a prolonged meditation.

.

The Nuthatch keeps its young at home.

Or at least, not here
“What do you think, Mrs Groundhog?”

.

“Think? What about?”

The size of your tummy, perhaps?
.

.
Time to post….chased from my room by the sound of an approaching vacuum cleaner!
Thank you, Carolyn, for your wonderful photos and commentary.

Haha 😄, I think Junior’s parent is just tired of trying to raise feathered kids (and what better place than in the sun in close range of food)! Now, that tummy of Mrs Groundhog …
Could the Groundhog be pregnant? Baby Groundhogs! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
I am not totally sure because the other mums have obviously been feeding, although those babies have not yet emerged. I have a feeling last year we did get another set of babies later, but I may be all wrong about it. They do have to eat a lot before they hibernate, so maybe rotund is normal. They are very cute.
