Dee Dee did a bad thing the other day.
She seized a chipmunk.

“I wos very frighted!”
Fortunately, Grant arrived on the scene in the nick of time.

“Needed long drink to recover!”
.
“Why you make me drop da mouse?”
“Not a mouse, Dee Dee. It’s a chipmunk.”
“We don’t eat our outside friends!”

“But it was inside!”
“Only because you brought it in, DD!”
Dee Dee gets most upset when Grant is annoyed with her.
But she soon gets over it.

Ghost has not been seen for several days which is unusual, so we keep peering out and hoping our little friend is alright.
Getting too attached to wildlife can cause heartache. The moment you begin to name them, you are doomed.

But it’s what we do.

Adirondack Red Squirrels have a life span of 3-5 years but they may live up to 10.
She brings us smiles every day.

A Hummingbird came to pose in the sun for me about 5 days ago.
The necklace shows, or not, as those feathers catch the light.
Such a masterpiece of Nature. But since that day, there’s not been a single sighting 🙁

Groundhog season got off to a slow start.
Some days no-one was interested in our offerings.
Afternoon was the popular time for above-ground expeditions, but only of short duration.

On May 10th there was evidence of babies but judging from last year’s photographs, we won’t be seeing them until July.

Now things are getting back to normal.
.
Furry and feathered mostly getting along.
And small brown creatures are once more waddling about displaying their sign:
“We want carrots!”
Ha 🙂, poor Zoomer and his “toof-ache” (I almost believed him)! I think Dee-Dee takes her job as shop steward very seriously … maybe you should tell her not to be so strict (it might hurt her re-election)!

The chipmunks are so cute, glad that one was rescued from the cat!
