Apologies to those of you who don’t like snow, but I have to work with what I’ve got.
And, – I am quite enthusiastic about the stuff, now that I no longer have to drive in it or take abuse from delayed airline passengers.
.

When it is freshly fallen, is it not beautiful?
Viewed from a remote, warm location?
.

When I have a subject I enjoy, I get carried away by it, so there are rather a lot of these photos.
.

Grant is very keen on video and he persuaded me to shoot a little as we drove along, but I think the stills are more than enough.
.

The Green Mountains had acquired the appearance of a soft fleece.
.

This sort of scenery makes me think of Sibelius’ symphonic poem Finlandia.
.
There is a lovely video with this, mostly not snow!
If I could have requested a single talent it would without question have been for music.
.

To be musically gifted, however, you surely must be special.
Composers of beautiful music, I have always believed, have a connection to the divine.
.

I would be happy to be able to sing in tune!
But I content myself with listening and if there is nothing else I appreciate about modern technology, I am grateful every time I tap a few buttons on my keyboard to dial up whatever tune I care to hear.
There was a time, not so long ago, when it was a good day if you could persuade a shortwave radio to pick up a signal and hold onto it.
.

Later on, when I had a bit of spare cash I used to go down the road to Tower Records and select a long-playing record. Then, after that it was CD’s, so I needed a second set of equipment. The record player had to be abandoned when I moved to Seattle.
Now I have neither, yet my choices of music are seemingly infinite.
It’s hard to see how anyone can improve on that.

Your snowy pictures are so beautiful to look at!
Your lovely cleared roads, are such I nice contrast, to newly fallen snow.
Thank you for sharing ❤️
The photos are indeed representative of a beautiful winter landscape. But you are lucky that your road surfaces are cleared so meticulously. Regrettably, that doesn’t always happen here, so I live in dread of having to drive in snow during the winter.
Best wishes, Pete.
I dreaded it too when I had a 30 mile drive to work! On Long Island the roads were not as well cleared.
What a superb video! The music is amazing on its own, but with the added images, it is sublime. I am always amused and amazed by the leap of faith that the tiny chicks have to make to get from the nest to the water!
Thank you so much, Carolyn, for the wonderful video and music! I agree with you that having talent to create unforgettable music would be my choice too! Seeing from the far away and warm place, your winter wonderland is beautiful!

Ha, as you rightly say: It’s wonderful to look at these photos while it’s sweltering hot where I am right now 😁. I will never get tired of looking at your beautiful snow photos – thank you for sharing them with us so willingly!
