Plotting his next escape?

He was watching deer in the lower field.

“Please, missus, keep your boy contained?”

.

“Wouldn’t want to have to beat him up!”

Son of Little Red is a stroppy creature. He regularly chases off the grey squirrels that are twice his size.

.

What will this year’s crop of greys be like?

.

This one was a pale shade with a reddish tail.

.

This one, more compact and darker grey.

It enjoyed a piece of pear on the now clear patio.

.

The girl-cats love to go out for short walks and reluctantly, I adjusted to this as they always come back fairly promptly.

.

Lily does occasionally loiter more than I care for.

.

Dee Dee sometimes gets a lift home.

.

For a long time I couldn’t bear the thought of allowing Willow to go out, but eventually I was persuaded by the sight of her sitting hopefully by the door.

One day she was gone a few extra minutes and I ran around searching and getting upset.

She suddenly popped out from under a hedge with a look as if to say:

“It’s alright! I’m here!”

.

Muffin likes to take the air when the weather is fine.

She is so frail now, I’m afraid she would blow away in a puff of wind, but she doesn’t go far.

.

After inviting herself in, Blackie wanted no part of going back out for a very long time.

But these days she does like to poke about a bit around the flowerbeds on a good day.

.

Sophia began venturing out late last summer.

She too is very frail, so we keep a close eye but she stays near by and doesn’t stay out long.

.

The boy, on the other hand, is inclined to adventure.

Up the hill to stare at the chickens.

Down the field to see what’s what.

.

But his favourite place is Grant’s shoulder.

What will summer bring?

  5. What about a kitty harness for Little Man? Then he can go out but not escape. Mind you, I only have dogs that go out into a 3.5 acre fenced yard loose, so I am not familiar with cats and their desires. LOL!
