“She did it again!”
“Told me she’d be right back and stayed gone hours.”
.
It may have been 90 minutes and I really did not intend to do anything more time-consuming than purchase a nasal spray from the pharmacy…
We were discussing the ice and I made the mistake of suggesting we should look at the Owl Kill, a mere two minute drive.
But the world and its dog were on the road after two quiet days and a car got in the way, resulting in a side turn.
You know where that leads!

.

Deciding we should visit a spot that has a good view, we headed toward it but a car immediately turned onto the road behind us, prompting another side turn and much grumbling which doubled as said car followed us.
“Why must he come down this road?”
Possibly because it was a public road and presumably that driver wished to go the same way, I offered
Grumbling scaled back to muttering:
“Well let’s see where the Universe takes us…”
.
Some of our most interesting drives have occurred following evasion tactics.

.

Our scenic wonder is due to be seriously altered tomorrow morning when we are predicted to get a downpour of freezing rain followed by a thaw.
So I couldn’t complain about having my morning hijacked and it was a nice day to be out.
It had been my intention to write about yesterday’s outing and begin posting some of those images but there are a lot of them and I don’t want to start while short of time.
.
Today, there were some frustrations.

The very bright light made it impossible to capture many of the images I would have liked to get.

.

We drove for a while not having any idea where we were. For a change? Ha!
The new car doesn’t give us its compass direction the way the old one did. It makes us realise how often we consulted it. Sometimes it’s handy to have a vague idea which way you are going.
.
Toward midday, or on a cloudy day, you can’t rely on the Sun.
Soon enough, we came to the Buskirk Bridge which was a help until we made another of those famous side turns.

.

We drove a little further, finding more roads previously not explored and then set course for home where I examined today’s mail.
Astonishingly, there was a letter from the Department of Motor Vehicles, a Restoration Notice this time.
.
Having received information from my insurance company confirming that I at no time had been driving uninsured, they had reinstated my registration.
Which they should not have suspended in the first place, cheeky swine.
Still, good to know it’s sorted.

.

One insurance annoyance resolved, another company stepped into the breach.
A letter from my supplementary medical insurance informed me that they “have stopped deducting premium payments using the EFT (electronic fund transfer) service, because:
.
. I asked them to. No, I didn’t.
.The bank said they couldn’t. Not so.
.Their attempts were unsuccessful. Wrong.

.

The number to call was not the right one.
The agent at the right number can’t help.
She referred me a number that plays vile music while keeping me on hold…
When/if someone comes on the line…
.
“Your call is very important to us!” Twang, twang…
No it isn’t! This sort of thing makes me say such rude words. You would be shocked!
“Oh Buddy! Can you believe it?”
Many calls later…policy was cancelled.
No one can say why.

Oh, what fun!
Thank you, Carolyn, for the update on the trials and tribulations in your life which you seem to enjoy! Onwards!

Looks like my comment disappeared again!
This happens to me but only on certain people’s posts. It is most annoying!
“Why must he come down this road?”
that is the perfect description of me driving ANYWHERE.
