Winter often gives us a tease around Thanksgiving.
Our first year here, we were treated to proper snow with a significant chill factor, but winter has been arriving later each year.
Two nights ago it began to snow around 7pm. By 10, it had turned to ice pellets. Finally it turned to rain and then stopped.
Surveying the result yesterday morning, I wasn’t too impressed. I don’t much care for half-hearted!
.
So I wasn’t keen on going out, but

..you never know what you might see.

.

A mere dusting of snow can alter the landscape completely.

The rising temperature produced thick mist on the hills.
.
Bright sun in Greenwich where work at the river was on hold.

Some sort of structure is in evidence. (see left)

.

Trees are beautiful at any stage.

.
At Tractor Supply,

no one was buying Adirondack chairs.

.

Hannaford’s trees were reluctantly beginning to shed.

.
The day before Thanksgiving….

.

..traditionally, a bad day for food shopping.

.
But I loitered outside.

.

Grant made a fast escape and we headed back.

.
In my time at JFK Airport, Thanksgiving was the absolute worst day for my 30-mile commute. In those days, I worked an afternoon shift, but no matter what time I started out, it seemed everyone was on the road going to a family gathering.
Later on, I took early shifts and commuted a much shorter distance at 4am which was blissfully quiet.

.

The tamaracks, so stunning on the 15th, had thinned out and were barely visible in the lingering mist.

Above was last week.
.
Strange things are happening with my photo-editing system. I thought I was confused when images appeared out of sequence, but after a recent drive, I was familiar enough with the route to know they were.
It seems to be a glitch with the camera. When the pictures are muddled, one frame is totally blank, somehow.
The editing system has changed too. It now requires a password to open the trash file, for example and will only show the menu on a full screen.

.

Throw in occasional WP changes to make a challenge!

.
For a long time I’ve thought I should update the format of my blog, change its appearance.

But I’ve yet to find the courage.

.

.
Best Wishes, Everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving to you both, and your family of kitty cats. 😺
Grateful that you choose to share your thoughts, and lovely photos. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Oh, I love your winter photos. And so amazed to see how quickly the appearance of the tamaracks changed in just a week. Every year, when a new season starts in your part of the world, then I think this is the most beautiful season (like now at the beginning of Winter). But I can now officially say that my favourite season on your blog is all four seasons 😁.
That is still too much snow for me, I hate the stuff.
Everyone keeps telling me to change my blog theme to see if it stops the glitches, but I like the one I’ve got.
Best wishes, Pete.
After one of my moves, I had a problem getting internet service sorted and I was told I would have to choose a different email address, that yetismith belonged to someone else. I don’t remember how I convinced them it was me. I have always been and always will be yetismith!
It gave me a chill to look at those photos! Winter is coming, I suppose. It was unseasonably warm for quite a while here in Toronto.
