The end?

0725/16th October 2021

Rain held off this morning just long enough for me to attend to my sickly lilac bush, that may now give up the ghost completely, or hopefully recover next Spring from its awful trauma of 2019.

It might have been a good idea to look up some information before blundering out with my clippers, but I’ve never been one to read the instructions first. I couldn’t count the number of times I’ve assembled an item back to front or wrong way round, just because I am too impatient to do things methodically.

C’est moi. It’s me. What can I say.

Let’s go back to yesterday, though:

A weather front was coming, preceded by many hundred geese.

How could I not photograph it?

The birds were challenged as the wind picked up.

And I was challenged to photograph it!

The sumac leaves turned upside down and the wind chimes played a symphony.

Voices of old friends.

A little over an hour later…Armageddon?

There was a crushing sensation.

.

Then at the other end of the house, a flash of colour:

A pocket of sunlight had broken through.

To dance upon the golden trees…

Not quite the end after all.

  1. I’m amazed to see that your pictures of the clouds and sky each looks different … though it’s the very same clouds and sky! Nature is giving so much of herself … we just need to make time to watch!
