Layers

After the early frosts and cold, clear days, stormy skies are back, bringing a return to milder weather. The resultant colours are proof of how much difference climate makes.

Part of my daily routine takes me outside after breakfast and often I come back in to grab my camera, as I did today.

While there is nothing extraordinary to photograph, I enjoy so much the variety of textures and colours in the landscape.

Nature’s paint brush at work.

Even on a cloudy day.

Overnight rain subtly altered the look of changing leaves

…bringing out such delicate shades

Even invasive plants become a thing of beauty

Pearls of moisture suspended from pine needles

Looking down, I saw layer upon layer of plants and textures and colours and I thought it was a reflection of life itself.

There are so many layers to peel back, to reveal what lies beneath.
